It’s All God
The Flowers and the Fertilizer
Introduction and Foundation
I. Unity was not begun to establish churches. Unity began as a place to share universal principles and have open conversations with persons of all different religions and spiritual practices. These meetings were first held on Sunday evenings after other services were complete.
“I feel that everyone is attending the right church, studying the right teaching, and learning the lessons they are ready to learn in the process of discovering what works for them in their present state of consciousness. Everyone is being led by an invisible hand.” W. Starcke p. 1
II. It’s Never Too Late to align with Spiritual Principles
a. Profound concepts are just now beginning to be implemented
b. A Glimpse of the Christ – Ascension Consciousness
c. Looking at the What vs the How
d. Standing on the Bridge
III. Looking at the Judeo Christian Myth that our Western Culture has been based on. Charles and Myrtle Fillmore (and others) have lived lives busting through those myths.
IV. Myths begin because someone has a transcendental experience.
Transcendentalism – philosophical movement began in 1836 which believed and taught the “goodness of people and nature.” Key figures were Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau.
The Myth: p 4
n Filtered to fit a viewpoint of a particular sect
n Manipulated to impose a power structure
V. My experience in Ministerial School
a. There is something mystical within the scriptures whether they be the Bible, The Torah, The Quran, the Vedas & the Bhagavad Gita. AND
b. We have barely touched the mystery as we are beginning to
c. Difference in Old Testament and New Testament “Gods.”
VI. The Double Thread: The parables of Jesus spoke to our shadows and our lights – our humanness and our divinity.
a. Two Commandments: Love God and Love Neighbor as Self
b. Joel Goldsmith’s Infinite Way: “There is not a spiritual universe and a material world, but rather that what appears as our world is the word made flesh. Spirit made visible, or Consciousness expressed as idea.” P. 8
c. Robert Browning, Paracelsus
Truth is within ourselves; it takes no rise from outward things, whatever you may believe. There is an inmost centre in us all, Where truth abides in fulness; and around, Wall upon wall, the gross flesh hems it in.
This perfect, clear perception – which is truth, a baffling and perverting carnal mesh bind it, and makes all error: and to KNOW. Rather consists in opening out away – whence the imprisoned splendor may escape, than in effecting entry for a light supposed to be without.
